About the Kit

Aspiring and seasoned wood workers rejoice! RE-CO BKLYN is your north eastern source for green Red Oak Roubo bench kits! Each kit includes:

  • (1) solid 6" thick bench top. You choose the length and width.

  • (4) solid 6" x 4" legs. You choose the length.

  • (1) solid 6" x 4" vice chop. You choose the length.

  • (4) solid 2" x 4" stretchers. You choose the length.

If you're not sure what dimensions to choose, we recommend oversizing the rough lumber so you can choose your final dimensions later:

  • Bench top: 96"L

  • Legs: 35"L

Stretchers: 2 pieces @ 24"L. 2 pieces @ 96"L.

Building your Bench

Working with green (partially air dried) Red Oak for your bench is a proven method that can save you frustration and money. Christopher Schwarz has been building such benches and writing articles about it for years. Read all about it in his recent article, "Work With Wet Workbench Tops".

Will Myers was inspired by Chris's book, "The Workbench Design Book" to build a Roubo bench from green Red Oak. You can follow his journey designing and building his bench in his article, "Building a Roubo Bench".

Our kit is priced at $999. We can load your truck at our Queens, NY location or we can quote you on freight shipment. Freight shipping on the East Coast will range from $300-$400 and West Coast will range from $450-$550. Call or email us to order your custom sized Roubo Bench Kit.
