Slab Table Workshop - Feb 16-28, 2023

4 Classes | Tuesdays & Thursdays 6pm-9pm | $725 (includes material)

In this class we will walk you through all the steps involved in creating a finished and functional coffee table or bench-sized piece with a live edge slab top and staked wooden legs. All tools and materials will be provided.

Perfect for woodworkers at any level.

Get started with this hand-tool intensive course. You’ll learn about traditional joinery and corrective techniques like miters, mortise and ttenon, half laps, dadoes, dovetails, tongue and groove, and other useful tricks. You’ll also learn about 86 sharpening, tool care and more.

This was a very cool slab with an unusually large number of white sapwood streaks in unusual places. This slab also had severe checking and was quite unstable. We installed several butterflies in walnut and brass and filled all cracks with clear epox
